Mayank Yadav : New sensation in the world of pace

Mayank Yadav: The new sensation in the world of pace

Mayank Yadav, the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) bowler, proclaimed his presence in style, with his balling busting the speed gun on his IPL debut.
The right-arm bowler not only recorded a stunning 3 for 27 in four overs against the Punjab Kings, but he also bowled the season's fastest delivery.
In addition, he performed admirably in his second encounter against RCB. He broke his personal record for the fastest ball this season, scoring 3/14 in four innings.

Even though, he made history by becoming the first player to win player of the match twice in his first two IPL games.
India has a great future in the batting lineup, and there is no doubt, but players like Mayank Yadav are clearing up the doubt in the bowling lineup, proving that the future of Indian bowling is as bright as the batting.

The 21-year-old made his IPL debut on Saturday, March 30, 2024, against Punjab Kings. In LSG's 21-run victory, he was named Player of the Match with bowling stats of 3/27.

LSG vs PBKS
The PBKS batsmen are troubled by Mayank's 150 KMPHS thunderbolt, and all three of his wickets have come off short deliveries.
In order to pull LSG back into the game, he removed Johnny Bairstow as his first wicket and dismissed Jitesh Sharma, Prabhsimram Singh, and Johnny Bairstow. At the Ekana Cricket Stadium, Punjab's openers had set a great foundation with a century stand in chase of 200 .

Mayank grabbed the attention of all when he hit Punjab's skipper Shikhar Dhawan with a thunderbolt that clocked at 155.8 KMPH and beat the star batter's outside edge.
Mayank surpassed Nandre Burger of Rajasthan Royal, who had previously set the pace with a time of 153, to bowl the fastest delivery of the 2024 IPL and holds the 6th position on the list of quickest deliveries.

LSG vs RCB
Mayank broke his own season record of 155.8 KMPH for the fastest ball when he hit a 156.7 KMPH delivery against RCB in his second encounter against them.
Glenn Maxwell was dismissed in the first over by the right-arm pacer who stole the show during his match-winning spell of 3/27 in his debut against Punjab Kings. In 4 overs, he returned incredible figures of 3/14 vs RCB .

Brett Lee, a former fast bowling sensation from Australia, called Mayank the "talk of the town".
Mayank stated that " My father liked fast bowlers, when I was a kid , he used to show me videos of Mitchell Johnson, Dale Steyn, and Morne Morkel.

Highlights of Mayank Yadav's career till now
This was his debut game for LSG, although they signed him at the 2022 IPL auction. In his senior career, which started in December 2021, he has only played 17 list A games and one first class match. This was only his 11th T20 game overall.

Vijay Dahiya, a former Indian player, saw Mayank, who plays for Delhi in the domestic circuit, during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match. The young player was signed by the new team, Dahiya serving as their assistant coach at the time, because this occurred just before the big auction that preceded the 2022 season.
But in that first season, Mayank was not allowed to play a single game as LSG finished third.Mayank could have had a chance after Mohsin Khan's injury the previous year, but he was also forced to miss the full season due to a ruptured hamstring.

Recently, Delhi and North Zone's white ball cricket performances caught people's attention. Even in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy quarterfinal, which Delhi ultimately lost, he was the team's best bowler with five wickets in four games. In five games for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he claimed six wickets.

He was among the top players in the 2023 Deodhar Trophy before those competitions. Mayank, who was selected for the North Zone team, intimidated hitters with his intense pace and finished with 12 wickets at an average of just 17.58 in 5 games.

Mayank has only participated in one first-class game in his early Carter career. In the Ranji Trophy in December 2022, that debut occurred against Maharashtra. After taking two wickets in the match, he stopped participating in the format.
