Just One More Glimpse
What If This is the Last Time? (A Fan's Ode to MS Dhoni)
Jee bhar ke dekh lijiye humko kareeb se....Fir aapke naseeb mein ye mulaqat ho naah ho. |
What if this is the last time he walks out to bat,
In yellow pride, beneath that iconic cap.
The roar of the crowd, the calm in his eyes,
The man who never flinched, never fed us lies.
What if this is the last time we cheer,
For the man who made pressure disappear?
Not just a player, but a quiet storm,
Who kept us safe, who set the norm.
What if this is Dhoni’s final run,
Under Chennai’s golden sun?
A silence hits, a fan’s deep fear,
That we may not see him next year.
We fear it, we feel it, this might be the end,
Of watching our captain, our mentor, our friend.
Not just a player, he's a reason we cheer,
For us, every glimpse of Mahi brings tears.
We watch the match for Mahi’s face,
His presence is our comfort, our sacred space.
For us, a glimpse is enough to heal
Mahi’s presence is something we feel.
He fixed our hearts, never asked for fame,
MS Dhoni, forever a name.
He aged, but never stepped aside,
Still wore the yellow with silent pride.
While trolls laugh, clueless and loud,
We know what he means to this crowd.
He stood through hate, he stood through time,
Still played with grace, aged like wine.
Trolls who never saw his prime,
Mock a man who redefined time.
They didn’t see this man in flight,
Winning games in the dead of night.
While trolls sit behind screens, casting their hate,
We remember the man who changed CSK’s fate.
He stood like a wall when others would fall,
At this age, he still answers the franchise’s call.
Dear “lockdown kids,” who mock with no shame,
You weren’t there to see him rule the game.
Not just with the bat or lightning-fast hands,
But with courage and grace that forever stands.
You saw the twilight, not the sun in its blaze,
Not his helicopter shots that set hearts ablaze.
Not the silence that spoke as he finished the chase,
Not the cool that calmed a billion hearts in craze.
He’s not just a cricketer, he's a therapy, a balm,
A storm who soothed us with nothing but calm.
He fixed what he never broke, took blame with a smile,
And walked off in silence, his signature style.
He gave us everything, no need to pretend,
We just want him to smile in the end.
Let him go, not with hate or a trend,
But with banners and chants that never end.
Let him go with love, not trolls or trends,
A legend like his story never ends.
If this is the last time, let’s do it right
For our lion who led us from darkness to light.
And even when he's gone from the pitch and the frame,
Every fan's heartbeat will still chant his name.
DHONI forever. Not just a name. An emotion. A flame.
